Who We Are

Summary

Love INC stands for Love In the Name of Christ. We are a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to meeting basic needs like food, shelter, clothing, transportation, and money management. To accomplish this, we assist on an individual level and on community levels. While assisting the immediate needs of folks in crisis, we also seek to transform community practices that tend to grip citizens in the hand of poverty--practices that affect community development, child care, health care, and more.

We zero-in on the help that is needed by screening those in need and knowing available cultural data. We offer training seminars and mentoring. And our system benefits from the talents of many many volunteers, churches, businesses and other charity organizations.

An important core for us is the churches who partner together, supporting our effort through donations of money, products, or services. When a need is presented to Love INC and confirmed, a member church that specializes in the need at hand is contacted to fill the need. See our Member Churches.

Our Mission

Our mission is to mobilize the Church to transform lives and communities In the Name of Christ.

The Love INC Model

Every Love INC affiliate is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, managed by an executive director and governed by a board of directors made up of Livingston County church members.

The Clearinghouse is the foundation of all Love INC affiliates where:

1. A request for help is received from either an individual in need or by referral from a network church or local agency.
2. Specially trained volunteers or staff assess the extent of the need with an interview and explore any deeper issues fueling the crisis.
3. The request is referred to a combination of partner churches, agencies, or faith-based organizations to provide assistance.
4. Groups of volunteers from Love INC partner churches respond to the referral with tangible help.
5. Volunteers and staff from the partner churches and the Clearinghouse review outcomes to see if the needs have been met or if longer-term attention is needed.
