Take time out of your busy summer to enjoy a truly memorable afternoon on August 6th, from 2-6pm, at Le Concours de Livingston. Hosted by Whispering Pines Golf Club in Pinckney, Michigan, this year's exciting theme is American Hero. The event will feature prewar, unique, and museum quality automobiles. Guests will enjoy live music by Anna Moore (Marilyn Monroe), Chuck Horan (Elvis), and the Leaky Tikis, while enjoying a wonderful selection of heavy appetizers and beverages. Have fun participating in our exciting Live and Silent Auctions for one-of-a-kind items and opportunities -- all to benefit Love INC. Proceeds will help provide matching grants to partner churches in order to help launch or improve their service ministries. Become part of making a change and serving others in our community through over 50 service ministries coordinated by Love INC. For those of you who have planned or prepared for an event, I’m sure you know how many details go into it. Love INC has several events during the year, and our first for 2016 is the 9th Annual Heart For Giving Fundraising Dinner. This year it’s being held on Thursday, February 18th at Cornerstone EPC Church, and the event preparation is in full swing!
You can purchase tickets at livingstonloveinc.org, or call us at 517-552-3816 to save your spot.
It promises to be a great evening. Our speaker this year is Dave Barrett from Cascade Engineering. He helped develop Cascade’s Welfare-to-Career program, which started in 1998 and has successfully guided over 800 individuals off welfare into meaningful, thriving careers. Dave will offer insights for all of us who care about people in need, moving people from assistance to careers, and high school students who want to consider something other than college. We hope you can join us.
A wonderful time was had by all at the 5th Annual Le Concours de Livingston, and everything worked beautifully! The cars and motorcycles were stunning, especially the 1958 Ford Skyliner Retractable Hardtop, a remarkable inspiration in its day. WCSX broadcasted live during the event, and brought The Stone Soup Car and their Rockin’ Ride. The 1967 Original Shelby Cobra, owned by Greg Ornazian, created quite a buzz with guests too. Thank you all for attending and participating.
The venue, Whispering Pines Golf Club, outdid themselves again! It always looks beautiful, and the food was amazing. It included caprese salad, carved beef tenderloin, grilled shrimp, and stone-fired pizza. We cannot thank them enough for their support of people in need in Livingston County. What angels!
The Live and Silent Auctions were a big success! The winner of the mission trip was thrilled at the chance to join DoorKeepers in building a well in Central America; donating, serving, and traveling to a beautiful country. And the baskets of goodies at the Silent Auction received lots of attention. A crowd favorite was the Italian Dinner Basket. The entertainment was awesome too! The Dance Project showed guests some amazing swing dancing while the HOTS Praise Band shared some beautiful Christian music. As always, The Music of Kristen and Andrew was a hit.
There are always some heartfelt moments at The Le Concours de Livingston. In one instance the woman who won the diamond necklace, generously donated by Cooper & Binkley Jewelers, donated it back to Love INC to be auctioned off. Also, the beautiful painting by Jan Burns was the subject of some intense bidding only to find out that both bidders wanted the painting so they could donate it to Love INC for display in the Love INC Clearinghouse.
As with any event we could not do this without all of our amazing sponsors. We are so blessed to have such amazing people and businesses in Livingston County. They always step forward to support organizations to help people in need.
Don’t miss the fun! Make sure to mark your calendars for next year’s Le Concours de Livingston, Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Whispering Pines Golf Club.

Most, if not all, non-profit organizations put on fundraisers. It’s really a “necessary evil” for groups who serve where little or no public funding is available. Ultimately it’s about helping people (donors, sponsors, volunteers, the community) find joy in giving.
And here’s the cool part…… We have such great sponsors. You see the business community join with us to raise the funds needed to help people struggling in Livingston County, and they do this with glad hearts. We also have outstanding volunteers. They help organize the event, set up, decorate, park cars, work the auctions, assist with technical demands, take photographs and videos, and lots more.
The community gets involved too. For the Le Concours de Livingston, which is held every year, attendees join us for an afternoon of wonderful cars, delicious food, and great silent and live auctions. They enjoy fellowship and have fun while helping Love INC.
We hope you join us on Saturday, August 1st for our 5th annual Le Concours de Livingston, held at the Whispering Pines Golf Club in Pinckney, MI. It’s a great car show, and there are so many ways to enjoy it.
